I’ve worked with businesses and organizations on the web for more than 25 years, with a particular focus on website strategy, SEO, and figuring out why website may not be effectively reaching the people the business owner needs to find.
A lot of my work comes down to identifying disconnects. A business may want to be known for one thing while its website emphasizes another, or it may want to show up in Google for services or locations that its online presence doesn’t really support.
I’m now based in Quincy, Illinois, and work with clients locally and in other parts of the country. I’m also getting more involved in the Quincy-area business community.

I created QuincyBiz to help Quincy-area businesses and individuals have a professional place online where people can learn about them, without having to build or manage a traditional website themselves.
Business Pages are for people who need a credible place where someone can learn what they do and how to contact them without necessarily needing a traditional multi-page website.
Personal Profile Pages are designed for people whose work, projects, community involvement, and other roles do not fit neatly in one place online.

I’m developing a custom ChatGPT designed to help small business owners think through whether they need a website, need to improve the one they already have, or may not need to spend money on a new website at all.
The goal is to help business owners ask better questions before making what can be an expensive website decision.
Community Involvement
ACA Business Club Quincy
I’m active in ACA Business Club Quincy, where I’ve gotten to know business owners and professionals throughout the area. (I joined the ACA Club in Columbia, MO in 2019 and transferred my membership here.)
We have networking coffees on Friday mornings at QuincyWorx Co-Working space, from 9 to 10 am. If you’re a fellow business professional or marketer in the Quincy area, and would like to attend, message me!
I also help with the club’s Facebook presence and online promotion, including introducing members and helping more people learn about the organization.
Getting Connected in Quincy
My husband and I moved to Quincy from Columbia, MO, in April 2026. We’re both enjoying getting to know the community and our terrific neighbors.
I am making a point of getting to know the local business community, learning what people do, and finding ways to make useful connections when I can.
Background & Experience
Professional Experience
I put up my first website in 1999 and have been trying to figure out “how to make money on the Internet” since then. (After all, it was supposed to be easy! It’s not.)
But I’ve “been there, done that” when it comes to online business. I’ve sold ebooks, had my own course, sold on Amazon for 5 years and become an affiliate for multiple products.
For 10 years, I invested my time/money/effort into learning how to do it for MYSELF.
In 2009, I began offering what I learned to local business owners. I spoke at conferences and had my own newspaper column for 3 years. I’ve partnered with other digital marketing companies to help with websites and SEO.
Education & Ongoing Learning
Much of what I know has come from years of hands-on work, constant changes in the web and search landscape, and learning new tools as they become useful. I’ve also continued my education through professional training, industry resources, and the day-to-day experience of solving real client problems.
U.S. Navy Veteran
I’m also a Veteran. After 2 years of college, I couldn’t decide what I wanted to major in, so I joined the Navy. I served 4 years as a Cryptologic Technician with a Top Secret security clearance.
I was stationed in Scotland and the Azores, Portugal. I wound up marrying a Marine I worked with in Scotland.

I’ve been on national TV as a business card expert on The CBS Sunday Morning Show. View the video here! The TV crew spent 6 hours with me, and I was on the show for about 15 seconds. But I got to add “As Seen on TV” to my business card website!
Outside of work, I enjoy reading science-fiction fantasy. I also crochet potholders or “Soap Sacks” that I donate to charity. Jigsaw puzzles are fun too.
I have two grown children; a daughter and her husband in Tucson, and a son and his family here in Quincy. Living close to the grandkids is one of the best parts of living here, and the main reason we left Columbia.
